Bihar Red Cross is unique amalgam of official and non-official headed by His Excellency the Governor of Bihar as its President. Its Managing Committee at State level includes high officials of the State Government.
The State Branch is virtually federation of 37 districts branches and 11 sub district branches covering the entire state.The District Magistrate happens to be President of the District and SDO to be President Sub District Branches of their respective jurisdiction.

The Indian Red Cross Society aims to inspire, encourage and initiate at all times all forms of humanitarian activities so that human suffering can be minimized, alleviated and even prevented and thus contribute to creating a more congenial climate for peace.

Individual/institutions enrolling themselves in different grade of memberships by subscribing the membership fee as follow:-
• Patron : Rs. 20000
• Voice-Patron: Rs. 10000
• Life member : Rs. 500
• Life associate: Rs. 250
• Annual Member: Rs. 50 per annum
• Annual Associate: Rs. 10 per annum
• Institutional Member: Rs.1000 per annum
•The Patron membership certificates issued by the national Headquarters of the Indian Red Cross Society are signed by Honorable President of India , in his capacity as president of the Indian Red Cross Society.
• Vice-Patron, Life Member and Life Associate certificates are signed by the Chairman and secretary General of the society
• On becoming patron, Vice-Patron and life member of india Red Cross Society- who gets opportunity to be invited, on the recommendations of the enrolling state / districts Branch, For Attending Annual General of the society
Eligibility
• Membership o f the society is open for all residents of India irrespective of their nationality, race, sex, religion, beliefs, language, class, or politics opinions
Rights of Members:
• To vote in the meeting as per rule.
• They have right to elect and to be elected as office bearers of the society at District level and state branch as
• To participate in the various Red Cross programmes/compaigns/activities/ and undertake voluntary service.
